A generous donation from the Bayer USA Foundation enabled CTL to provide 15 scholarships of $5,000 each to New Jersey teachers of every academic background to earn their endorsements in physics or chemistry through CTL.
When 35 highly qualified teachers submitted inspiring applications for the scholarships, the Thompson Family Foundation joined the initiative to provide 20 additional scholarships to ensure each qualified applicant could begin their course work in January. Each participating teacher will dedicate approximately 300 hours of their own time to achieving their endorsement in physics or chemistry.
The implications of this collaboration between a leading American business, a family foundation, the CTL team, administrators and the endorsement candidates themselves are extraordinary! Assuming that upon achieving their endorsements, each teacher will provide classes for approximately 100 students a year for at least 10 years, then 35,000 additional New Jersey students will have access to high-quality physics or chemistry education!
