NJEA and NJCTL launch new collaborative partnership for online resources NJEA and the Center have joined forces to bring high quality web resources to educators. The resources listed in this site meet the criteria for a good web experience as determined by NJEA. In addition, the content is reviewed and approved by a representative of the Centers highly skilled academic team.
The criteria used to review the web resources listed in this site are as follows:
TECHNOLOGY
- It was recently updated
- It contains the author's name or organization
- It is not purely commercial
- It is "member friendly"
SUBJECT
- It addresses New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards
- It is relevant and applicable to "real" math classrooms
- A variety of concepts are presented
- There is depth to the concepts presented
- It includes applications for each concept
- A variety of levels are presented
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT THE SITE (NOT SUBJECT SPECIFIC):
- Does the site require students to provide any personal information? (i.e. register, create user name)
- If the site is part of a larger site, is the parent site appropriate for intended age group?
- Does the site have forums, blogs or comment sections that could be a potential issue?
- If it has advertisements, are they appropriate?
- Will the site work in a school setting where there may be filtering systems in place?
- Is the site easy to navigate?
- Does the site provide information for free or for purchase?
