2020 Year in Review

What a year! While much of the world took a pause, educators were hard at work. Here’s a quick look at some of the work NJCTL did to support students and teachers facing the challenges of Covid-19.

Help us continue this vitally important work by making a tax-deductible donation to become an NJCTL Member, or by making a donation in any amount.

For Students

  • Added an online AP CS Principles course to complement our existing AP CS A course

  • Created self-study online courses to assist with remote learning

  • Provided NCAA-approved high school courses

  • Provided AP courses as an AP Online Course Provider

For Teachers

  • Coached teachers to transition from using PSI-PMI Teaching Materials in the classroom to also using them remotely

  • Added a new “Remote Instruction” module to our Teaching Methods course

  • Developed teacher-facilitated courses which helped 86 teachers, from a diverse range of schools, remotely teach more than 4000 middle and high school students

Graduate Education

  • Became licensed as a NJ Institution of Higher Education and began the Middle States accreditation process

  • Helped 33 teachers earn a new endorsement in math, physics, or chemistry with our DOE-approved programs

  • Launched CS and MS Science courses for teachers, as well as a MS Science Endorsement Program

  • Partnered with Adams State University to offer teachers credit transcription to move on the salary guide, satisfy state CE requirements, or earn a new subject-area endorsement

  • Became approved as an ACT 48 Provider, enabling PA teachers to receive CE credits.
