What is the picture in the top left corner on page 12? My class was able to figure out the rest but not that one.

Hi Jennifer! Thanks for reaching out. The upper left photo is a closeup of the bacteria, salmonella. Biodiversity includes plants, animals, fungi, and bacteria. The students will learn more about bacteria in the upper grades. In order to prepare them for those grades, it is good to lay the foundation that all four areas are part of biodiversity even though we don't go into details of bacteria at this level.
