Sorry, there was a typo in my original question, I meant to ask, how do we know that segment AD is less than segment BC. Since the segments belong to two different triangles, does knowing that angle ACD is less than angle CAB is enough to say that segment AD is less than segment CB? I've discussed this problem with a colleague and think that based on the information presented, that it is not enough information. Any insight to this problem is greatly appreciated.
