On the "Analyzing Fcns Using Derivatives" Unit Test/Retest, Problem #9 on both--has where students compare the f, f', f" given the f" graph. The teaching/learning lessons and Smart Notebook did not cover this. However, I feel they need to so students understand that f represents height, f' represents slope, and f" represents concavity. Thanks and have a great day!
Dear Deb Yoast,
Thank you for your comment. We apologize that one of us did not get back to you sooner. I've forwarded your comment to members our Calculus writing team. When they get to the "Analyzing Functions Using Derivatives" unit, they'll look into making changes to the files.
Kind regards,
Audra
Dear Samuel Cerritos,
Thank you for your comment, but it seems to be incomplete. Is there another comment that you would like for me to share with the Calculus writing team? Or are you referring to the earlier comment and reply from another user? If you are referring to the earlier comment & reply from another user, please see our follow-up comment given below, regarding the graph for problem #9.
Kind regards,
Audra
Hi Ms. Yoast,
I just wanted to mention that the given function graphed on #9 is the function, f, not the second derivative. This might help clear up the confusion. Let us know if you have additional questions.
Thank you,
Katie
