Nice new site, but how do we download all of the documents at once for a unit like in the old platform?

Danielle Parker • 4 years, 6 months agologin to reply

Thank you for your comment. The download all attachments functionality will be restored soon. Course materials are continuously improved, so to ensure you are using the most up-to-date version of each file, please check the website often for updates.

What textbook do you use?

Melissa Axelsson • 3 years, 11 months agologin to reply

We do not use a textbook. The presentations are a digital version of a textbook. If students do not have access to a device to view the presentations on, schools print out the presentation 6 slides per page or 3 slides per page and students keep that in a binder. Reach out again with any further questions.-Melissa

I agree.

Amazing resource. I am not fortunate enough to have a SMART board in my room. Any chance the Waves SMART Notebook presentation could be formatted in Powerpoint or Slides?

Melissa Axelsson • 3 years, 6 months agologin to reply

Nicole - we do have the PDF posted for each unit. That would have each slide on it. However when using the PDF you lose any interactive things in the presentation. I can email you directions to download a free version of SMART Notebook if you would like. Do you have a MAC or a PC? - Melissa

How do i set a student up in a classroom?

Melissa Axelsson • 3 years, 4 months agologin to reply

Barbara - the classroom isn't for individual students, it is for you as a teacher to create your own classroom that you would share with all of your students and your parents. This link explains more and also includes some videos that show you how your could set it up. https://njctl.org/who-we-are/media/ctls-classroom-feature/ Reach back out if you have any questions. - Melissa

I do not have the Smart board on my computer. My school uses the active board. Is there anyway to convert the Smart board notes over to that program? I really enjoyed using this resource at my old school and was hoping to bring it with me to my new school. Thanks--Mike

Melissa Axelsson • 3 years, 1 month agologin to reply

Michael - you are able to import out SMART Notebook presentations into ActivInspire software. You download the SMART Notebook file to your computer (don't open it). Then open the ActivInspire software - choose to import a file, browse and find the file. Sometime the file crashes when you are converting it - if it does that you can make a comment on the presentation page and we will be able to resolve the issue for you. - Melissa

Donna Irons • 3 years agologin to reply

Hello Melissa, How long will teachers be able to access archived middle school files? What will this mean in terms of interactive applications/capabilities? Also, when the updated middle school curriculum be completed in its entirety? Thanks Donna I.

Melissa Axelsson • 3 years agologin to reply

Donna - these materials will always be here - we won't them and you should have no problem still using them. The updated middle school curriculum will have everything posted for the first half of the year prior to September 1st and then we will stay ahead of the pacing for the rest of the courses. Right now all of the presentations are posted for Physical Environment as well as Mathematical Physics. Please take a look at the Mathematical Physics - you will really like it! Let us know what you think. The first presentation in Mathematical Physics has some great improvements that really give the students a nice way to organize their work as they solve problems. - Melissa
